Location
Edinburgh
Duration
42 weeks
Value
£3.3m
Size
20,000 sqft
Situated in Edinburgh’s Parliament Square at the core of the Old Town Conservation Area, this revolutionary 20,000 sqft project involved historically sensitive structural alterations, the conversion of former prison cells into 12 boutique bedrooms and the installation of 181 modular sleeping ‘pods’ manufactured by our sister company SJS. Works also involved the construction of toilet and shower facilities and the creation of a bespoke reception area, breakfast room and support accommodation. The project was shortlisted in the Architectural Excellence category of the Scottish Property Awards.
TESTIMONIAL

"Sharkey managed the conversion to an excellent standard. Given the intricacies of an old historic building and the prominent neighbours nearby, the development had the potential to create some problems or delays. I was pleased with the forward planning and the manner in which the team conducted themselves to ensure we stayed on track and a first class product was delivered in time for the world's largest festival"

- Andy Landsburgh, Owner, CoDE
