Dollar Academy embarked on an ambitious programme to convert a disused gym into a dedicated sixth form centre and to refurbish Heyworth House, one of its accommodation blocks for female boarders. Sharkey were proud and pleased to win the competitive tender to carry out this work. Heyworth House is a 19th century listed building and, as such, had to be sensitively and respectfully refurbished. The sixth form centre required a large space dating from the 1960s to be utilised in new ways and the site involved significant engineering work, wholesale structural change, and innovative bespoke interior construction.
